Colorants

Resin colorants can create solid coverage, transparent tinting, pearlescent shimmer, marble effects, gradients and layered visual depth depending on pigment type and mixing method.

High pigment dosage or poor compatibility may affect curing speed, hardness and surface quality. Small-batch testing helps confirm safe addition levels.

Pigment usually gives stronger color body or opaque coverage. Dye often creates transparent tinting and allows more light to pass through cured resin.

Pearlescent particles reflect light at different angles. Stirring direction, resin viscosity and pouring movement create swirls, waves and layered shine.

Some colorants work across several resin systems, but compatibility should be checked because curing method, reaction speed and viscosity differ.

Slow, consistent stirring and proper pigment pre-mixing can reduce streaks. Scraping the cup walls and bottom helps blend color more evenly.
